Cookeville, Tenn – Amos Powers, a resident of Cookeville and a graduate of Tennessee Tech University, announced that he will run as a Democrat for the Tennessee House of Representatives for the 42nd District.
Powers has filed qualifying papers with state officials. The seat that Powers will be running to fill is currently held by Rep. Ryan Williams. Amos is ready to roll up his sleeves and get to work ensuring that we have someone fighting for the 42nd District in Nashville.
“Ordinary Tennesseans need affordable and quality healthcare through Insure Tennessee. They need leaders who will focus on creating a government that puts ethics and oversight first. And they need officials who will support equal pay for equal work, and investments in our public schools and public infrastructure.”
“Powers, continued, I am focused on moving past political gridlock and the misplaced priorities of our current elected officials in Tennessee. At a time when polls show that most Tennesseans are less satisfied with their standard of living and more likely to say it is getting worse, we need a leader who is focused on solving problems and making the lives of ordinary Tennesseans better”
“I am committed to working on the issues that make a real difference and not continue the partisan bickering, but ensuring that people have the tools they need to succeed. A state representative has a responsibility to focus on problem solving.”
